  • 2009: The 2009 Corporate Fund Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management
  • 2009: One of the 26 nonprofit organizations to be included in Giving Matters, the nonprofit series produced in partnership between the NH Charitable Foundation and NH Public Radio.
  • 2009: Stove Pipe Award from NH Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for their commitment to empowering persons with disabilities to take an active role in preparing for emergencies.
  • 2008: Granite State Independent Living’s Employment Department was honored by LinkAbilities for its outstanding work and dedication to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
  • 2008: Granite State Independent Living selected by the New Hampshire Home Builders Association as the beneficiary of their annual fundraising event, “New Hampshire Parade of Home.”
  • 2008: Granite State Independent Living awarded a contract from the NH Secretary of State’s Office to provide outreach to the disability community on the latest changes to the State’s voting equipment.
  • 2008: Finalist in the University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business Corporate Consultants program.
  • 2007: Approved by the Social Security Administration as an Employment Network.
  • 2007: Named 2007 Non Profit of the Year by Business NH Magazine.
  • 2007: Receives HUD Approval as a Housing Counseling Agency.
  • 2007: Granite State Independent Living, on behalf of the EasyLiving Home Coalition, accepts a certificate of merit from the HUD Manchester Field Office.
  • 2006: Recognized as one of ten national finalists for Peter F. Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation, awarded by the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito School of Management at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California.
  • 2005: Granite State Independent Living’s Phone Link program wins the Public Service Award from the New Hampshire Rehabilitation Association.
  • 2003: Granite State Independent Living’s Benefits Planning Assistance and Outreach program receives an overall “outstanding” rating from the Social Security Administration, placing it in the top 10% of organizations nationwide.
  • 2003: Governor’s Public Service Award.
  • 2002: Honored as a Community Champion by Citizens Bank and WMUR-TV.
  • 2001: Clyde Terry, a Granite State Independent Living Board member at the time, receives the National Council on Disability Region I Advocacy Award “for his dedication to promoting and protecting the rights of all people with disabilities and the advancement of the Independent Living philosophy throughout Region I.”
  • 2000: Granite State Independent Living’s Housing Access and Advocacy program is selected by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as one of 404 “Simply the Best” award winners from across the country. The notification from HUD stated, “Your organization’s efforts exemplify what works in New England ."
  • 1992: Receives the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation Corporate Fund’s prestigious Walter J. Dunfey Award for Excellence in Management in recognition of its innovative programming and capacity for teamwork in promoting implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
